New Christians

Scriptures to guide and edify new Christians as they begin their new relationship with Jesus.

We are born into a new life.

John 1:12    But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

John 3:1-8    1    There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2    This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4     Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5    Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6    "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7    "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8    "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

John 5:24    "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

2 Cor 5:17    Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

I Jn 5:11-13    11    And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

12   He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

13    These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

He will never leave you.

Heb 13:5    Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Col 1:27    To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Trust in His word.

John 14:21    "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

Acts 17:11    These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Gal 5:16-17    16    I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17    For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Pray, thank God for your salvation.

1Thes 5:18    in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Ps 55:17    Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.

Go to church.

Ps 122:1    I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the LORD."

Heb 10:25    not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Be baptized.

Acts 2:41    Then those who gladly received his word were baptized;

Matt 28:19    "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

1 Pet 3:21    There is also an antitype which now saves us-- baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Witness to others.

John 15:8    "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Acts 1:8    "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
